Big Nuz

Big Nuz consists of a super talented trio namely, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, Sbusiso “R Mashesha” Khoma and Mzi “Danger” Tshomela all three born and raised in Umlazi, Durban’s Southern townships. Deep is the foresight laced in their group name as the prefix “Big” could only mean destined for bigger things in life and “NUZ” taken from Umlazi’s vehicle registration plates, arguably the second biggest township in South Africa. It was in 2002 when they decided to officially form Big Nuz after realizing that their friendship was deeply rooted in music which at times left them wondering if they weren’t separated at birth. They didn’t waste anytime in 2002 as they embarked on a journey to the City of gold, Johannesburg in pursuit of a recording deal, only to be met with challenges as their every knock on music executives door fell on deaf ears.
